It is important to note that American Nutrition Inc manufactures pet food products for companies other than their own. Natural Balance, Diamond Pet Foods and Blue Buffalo have indicated that some of their canned products manufactured at American Nutrition had rice protein concentrate in these products even though the products were not formulated by Natural Balance, Diamond or Blue Buffalo to contain rice protein concentrate. This was added without their knowledge or consent.
We will continue to update our website as quickly as we get new information.

The apparently contaminated rice protein concentrate was obtained from Wilbur-Ellis in San Francisco who imported the product from China. They have not released the names of the other companies that received parts of these shipments. Wilbur-Ellis has voluntarily recalled all of the rice protein concentrate as of April 18, 2007. We have been advised that it will be up to the FDA as to when the names of the other companies that received the rice protein concentrate will be released.

MENU FOODS RECALL INFORMATION:
Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to any family whose pet(s) have become ill as a result of eating any affected foods in any of the recent recalls. Our goal at Good Dog Naturally is to provide access to the highest quality foods and treats for your family pet as well as providing information to our customers on the benefits of feeding quality natural pet foods.
There is an important web-site which is compiling a database of animals that may have died as a result of eating tainted food from the Menu Foods recall. If you would like your pet's name to be included, please go to www.petconnection.com. As of now, there does not appear to be any government agency that is compiling a comprehensive list of animals that have died recently of unexplained kidney failure after eating the recalled pet food. As a result, the number of pets in their current "official" count is quite low.
If your animal became ill as a result of the recalled Menu Foods products, you may be able to recover your vet bills from them. Please call their toll free number - 1-866-895-2708 - for additional information on filing a claim.
The FDA has announced that ChemNutra Inc., of Las Vegas, Nevada, recalled all wheat gluten it had imported from one its three Chinese wheat gluten suppliers. Wheat gluten purchased by ChemNutra was supplied to three pet food manufacturers and one distributor who supplies wheat gluten only to the pet food industry. For more detailed information please visit the FDA website: http://www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/petfood.html
Hill's Pet Nutrition has now recalled it's dry food Prescription Formula, Prescription Diet™ m/d™ Feline Dry Food. Please go to their website at: www.hillspet.com for more recall information. In addition, Nestlé Purina Pet Care has also recalled it's Alpo® Brand Prime Cuts In Gravy Canned Dog Food. Please go to www.purina.com for more information.
For peace of mind, if you use any pet food products that contain wheat gluten, you should discontinue use. We are proponents of feeding pet foods that do not contain corn, wheat or by-products.
The majority of canned foods carried in our store ARE NOT part of the recent recall. The only canned or pouch items affected by the Menu Foods recall carried in our store were made by NUTRO. The list of affected NUTRO items can be found at www.nutroproducts.com/mfrecall.asp.
